Ultra-high-end scale models are fascinatingly complicated things. Taking a full-size vehicle and shrinking it to a 1:8 scale without losing its vital details is impressive. UK-based Amalgam notes that each creation takes over 400 hours and utilizes thousands of tiny bespoke parts. Things become even more complex when the scale model maker matches the configuration of a given car to its miniaturized counterpart, some of which require the creation of even more unique pieces.
Amalgam recently unveiled that it planned to offer two new models, one based on the Lamborghini Revuelto and another on the Countach LP400. The plug-in hybrid is the Italian carmaker’s latest creation, so let’s start there. Only 199 models are planned for production, with deliveries expected to begin later this year. Amalgam intends to offer the Revuelto in its launch configuration, as pictured above, for $16,450. Those interested in matching their scale model to a unique specification can commission a bespoke build for $23,525.
Alongside its announcement that it would start accepting pre-orders for its Revuelto model, Amalgam also showcased a second build miniaturizing the Countach LP400. Costing $18,706, this take on one of Italy’s most iconic supercars is available in Giallo Fly, like the one photographed above, or Rosso Red. Unlike the Revuelto, the Countatch is immediately available.
