Audi Is bidding farewell to the R8 with one last video for the fans, by the fans. A couple of months ago, the company posted to its social media asking fans of the supercar to help create the final video for the iconic car titled “The Last Lap.”
Everything from the setting, the action, the time of day, and even the soundtrack had to be chosen, and the company has finally delivered on its promise with a video that gives the car the sendoff it deserves.
The video features a little bit of everything, most likely a testament to the fans deciding the company should go all in for its mid-engined darling. Featuring scenic city, track, and desert vistas at all times of day, the company flaunts the very best of both generations of the supercar in the best way possible: by absolutely letting them rip.
The first car shown off is the one that started it all, the 2008 Audi R8 with the 4.2-liter V8 and exquisite six-speed gated manual.
