India is one of the largest market for two-wheeler manufacturers in the world. We still have a majority of population, who rely on two-wheelers to travel from one place to other. There are many workshops and garages in India that work with motorcycles and there are many garages that hae tastefully modified motorcycles. Royal Enfield motorcycles are one of the most commonlymodified motorcycle in the country. Here we have a video of a bolt on kit that can convert a regular motorcycle into a trike.
The video has been uploaded by HYDERABAD INNOVATIONS on their YouTube channel. The conversion kit has been developed by them only. This conversion is currently available for Bajaj Avenger and Royal Enfield Classic and Meteor. These kits are available for BS6 versions only. The same kit is also available for automatic scooters like Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, TVS Ntorq, Hero Maestro, Suzuki Access 125 and even TVS IQube EV.
It is actually a bolt on kit that is installed in the front after replacing the front wheel. The kit consists of to wheels which converts the two-wheeler into a trike. The kit has been developed by Hyderabad Innovations and Technologies has developed this new kit while keeping rider safety in mind. It took them around seven and half years to do proper research and development of this product. They call this trike kit Tilting kit as it allows the rider to tilt the motorcycle without actually falling over. They analysed all tilting kit variants that are available in the market around the world.
We have seen several videos of such trikes from across the world but, this is probably the first time, an Indian manufacturer has come forward with such a product. The company claims that the Tilting kit is economical and effective on all Indian terrains of India. The video shows the finalised production version of this tilting kit. They mentioned that one does not have to make changes to any of the original part of the vehicle.
In order to avoid falling over, there is an option to manually tilt lock which would offer a comfortable ride at low speeds. The person riding the trike does not even have to put his leg down while coming to a stop when the tilt lock is on. The company claims that the kit offers high confidence in rider while riding and braking a motorcycle with this kit installed. It even improves the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle by 10 percent as per company. The kit increases the wheelbase of the motorcycle by 30 mm in Bajaj Avenger and 75 mm in Royal Enfield. The kit weighs around 55 kg for Bajaj Avenger and 63 Kg for Royal Enfield. There is a double wish bone and double shock absorber, C-type tilt sway bar with ball joint links in the kit. They have not yet shared the installation video of this kit on their YouTube channel. The video shows how the tilt kit helps in making the motorcycle more stable on both tarmanc and rough terrains.
