BMW M5 Touring Colors Exposed

Key Takeaways

  • A leak from BMW China reveals a range of exterior and interior color options for the M5 Touring.
  • Alpine White, Black Sapphire retained, and Isle of Man Green are among the choices.
  • The M5 Touring is set for production in November, with a plug-in hybrid setup delivering around 718 horsepower.

BMW finally came to its senses and is bringing the M5 Touring to the US, and thanks to a leak from BMW China, we may already know what colors it’ll be wearing. This is great news, as we’re surviving on every little crumb we can get until the wagon debuts. The last time anyone was this excited about a new wagon arrival was when Audi brought the RS6 Avant to the US, so BMW can’t afford to get the details wrong and fall short of its biggest rival. The Audi has sported some sweet colors over the years, and fortunately, it looks like the upcoming wagon will have some solid choices, too.

This information comes courtesy of BimmerPost.com, where someone was able to get their hands on an order guide sent out to BMW salespeople in China. It looks like the vehicle will come in 10 different exterior colors with 4 different interior options, most of which are pretty standard fare, but there are some gems that we can’t wait to see in person.

  • Marina Bay Blue
  • Frozen Pure Grey
  • Storm Bay

And the interior color list is such:

  • Black
  • Silverstone / Black
  • Red / Black
  • Kyalami Orange/ Black

Look Forward To These New Car Colors In 2024

BASF has revealed its 2023-2024 automotive color trends collection with some stunning hues amongst them.

We can’t say we’re surprised about many of these options, as consumers have unequivocally proven over the years they have terrible taste in vehicle colors. There’s nothing wrong with a blacked-out, fast BMW estate, but can’t you think a little bigger? Swing a little harder for the fences? You’re dropping six figures on a wagon, for goodness’ sake. Why not live a little?

Fortunately, there are some gems here, with Isle of Man Green sitting squarely at the top of the list. We imagine this green paired with the Kyalami Orange interior will be a particularly popular color combination, and you can see a spy photo of said combo below. Marina Bay Blue and Fire Red are also going to be solid choices, though we would have liked to have seen an outlier color like Thundernight Metallic or Austin Yellow.

When You Can See Them In Person

Currently, both the sedan and wagon are hard at work getting the final torture testing done so they’re fully ready to be parked in temperature-controlled garages their entire lives. The sedan is set to go into production this July, with the Touring arriving this November. Our belief is the company will unveil both models at the same time, but release them at different times to keep the excitement high for longer.

Everything Confirmed So Far About The 2025 BMW M5 And M5 Wagon

The all-new BMW M5 is coming to America in both sedan and station wagon forms, and here’s everything we know so far.

Set to be a PHEV, the M5 Touring will utilize the setup from the BMW XM but may only produce 718 horsepower to not step on the XM Label Red’s 738 horsepower. The setup should be very efficient, even capable of driving almost 50 miles on electricity only, but it’s still a focused performance machine first and foremost. At least now we’ll know what colors to play with as we daydream on its configurator in a few months.
