Mahindra Scorpio-N is one of the hot sellers from the Indian SUV manufacturer. The Scorpio-N was launched in the market a few years ago and received an overwhelming response. However, the Scorpio-N has also been plagued by numerous issues since its launch. We have now come across a new video from the National Capital, Delhi, where a customer’s few-hours-old Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV simply broke down in the middle of the road.
The video was shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. The customer personally reached out to the YouTuber and asked him to make a video about this issue. The customer said that he bought the Scorpio-N SUV from a Mahindra authorized dealership in Delhi. After taking delivery, he, along with his family, was returning home when they started facing issues.
It should be noted that the delivery of this SUV happened just a few hours earlier. The customer recorded a video showing the issue. The instrument cluster and the infotainment screen lit up like a Christmas tree. The SUV was starting and turning off on its own, and the infotainment system was displaying several notifications.
All of this happened in a matter of seconds. The customer didn’t even have time to drive the car and park it on the roadside. When they tried to engage the reverse gear, the screen displayed a message to visit the service center. The car would not start at all, so the owner, along with a police officer on duty, pushed the car to the side of the road.
It should be noted that this is a brand-new SUV, and the amount of mental trauma that the customer had to go through just hours after buying it is unexplainable. The YouTuber can be heard saying in the video that he advised the owner to get in touch with the dealership to get a resolution.
In the video, we see that the SUV was taken on a flatbed and probably returned to the dealership or service center. The owner told the vlogger that the dealership or service center staff had not resolved his issue. It looks like the customer opted for the higher variant of the Scorpio-N.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both petrol and diesel variant get automatic transmissions too. We are not sure which variant the customer chose. It appears that the customer is planning to take legal action against the dealer after this unfortunate experience.
Many people have recently been moving to consumer court against vehicle manufacturers in India. In most cases, the commission has been ruling in favor of the customer. There is no clarity at the moment on what happened to the vehicle.
The customer has not received any message related to the issue. If it is a defective vehicle, the dealership should ideally replace or at least repair the car and return it to the customer. We hope Mahindra gets involved in this issue and offers a solution to the customer.
