aAs we wave goodbye to the legendary W16, we welcome a new era of Bugatti performance.

Since setting the pace for the hypercar industry with the EB110 and Veyron, Bugatti‘s performance-focused DNA has taken shape in the form of its legendary 8.0L W16 engine platform. Recognized as the secret recipe that helped to secure a long list of accolades alongside other industry giants like Pagani and Koenigsegg, the powertrain continued its lifespan long into the Chiron series with minor tweaks and tuning to increase output up to 1,600 horsepower. With new environmental regulations changing the way hypercar manufacturers power their fleet, Bugatti is proud to announce the next chapter of its legacy by welcoming an all-new V16 hybrid powertrain.

Described as “Incomparable in every detail” by Bugatti, the new beating heart of the French automaker promises to deliver the same thrilling driving experience while presenting beneficial improvements. Although specs on the new engine platform have yet to be released, we can guarantee that horsepower will remain in the four digits and that overall torque will increase due to the support of hybrid assistance. While we are all saddened to see the iconic 8.0L quad-turbocharged W16 make its exit from Bugatti’s production, the silver lining is to expect more speed and power from the new V16 hybrid engine.
