This rally-spec 2CV, nicknamed “Duck” for how its suspension sways, is crewed by female racers from Czechoslovakia. It only has 35 horsepower on tap from its 650cc engine, which is nuts considering what the teams are dealing with in terms of terrain and distance.
Another vehicle the video presenter came across was a Mercedes-Benz Unimog – the G-Class’ bigger, beefier cousin. Apart from being a beautifully restored 427 version, this one is interesting for its history. According to the team manning this beast, it functioned as a snow plow in 1968. Over the years, it also served as a training vehicle for firefighters.
The team says they turned this snow-going ride into a desert raider because it is part of a “recycling project.” The ride looks mint and is particularly fetching with its beefy off-road tires, armor, and rally-spec exterior lights.
