China has yet another impressive electric sedan we can’t have: it’s called the Avatr 12 (pronounced one-two, not twelve) and is born from a joint venture between Changan, CATL, and Huawei, which also produced an SUV model called the Avatr 11.
The Avatr 12 arrives with four-door coupe styling and a large hatch in the back. Similar to a Polestar 5, there is no rear window, instead relying on cameras to replace the rear and side-view mirrors.
Deliveries begin later this year with two drivetrains, rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The RWD version produces a respectable 313 horsepower, while the dual-motor setup offers an impressive 578 hp. Both setups are linked to a 94.5-kWh battery from CATL.
