Chrysler Pacifica Reportedly Getting a Significant Refresh


With the Chrysler 300 sedan getting put in its grave, that leaves the Pacifica minivan as the last Chrysler model left standing. While some may fear that’s a harbinger of death, fear not, because it sounds like the Pacifica will have a longer life expectancy than expected. That’s based on comments made by Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell, who Automotive News Canada reported as saying that the minivan is in line to get “more than just a moderate refresh.”

A Significant Refresh Is Coming

Other than saying it’ll be significant, Feuell didn’t provide any specific details about what’s actually planned for the Pacifica’s refresh. The minivan’s makeover is also likely still a couple of years away, as it won’t debut until after Chrysler launches its first EV model. That was previewed by the Airflow concept back in January 2022, with production slated for sometime in 2025, but we still don’t know what it’ll actually be called, among many other unknown details.

Speculating about the refreshed Pacifica is tough because it sounds like it’ll continue to use the same platform as the current generation, which arrived for the 2017 model year. For 2021, it received a facelift that included prettier styling and the introduction of all-wheel drive. The 2024 Pacifica still offers a standard V-6 and a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, but it remains to be seen if either will carry on as part of the upcoming updates.

For those wondering if a significantly refreshed Chrysler Pacifica will be short-lived, Feuell told AN Canada that the company‘s projections suggest minivans will remain popular through the end of the decade. She also said that the Voyager—a fleet-only version of the Pacifica—will continue on.

With the brand that spawned the original minivan clearly remaining invested in the body style, we can’t help but wonder if an all-electric Pacifica is in the works. Now that would truly be significant.
