It is likely that his father gifted him the car after the press conference. As they were exiting the building, Prashanth noticed a white BMW X7 parked outside.
Prashanth’s father, Thiagarajan, is also a well-known actor in the South Indian film industry. The two had a brief conversation, and in the end, Thiagarajan handed over the keys to the brand-new X7 luxury SUV. This isn’t the first time Thiagarajan has done something like this; when Prashanth was a child, he expressed an interest in learning how to ride a bike, so his father bought him a Yamaha RX100. His uncle, S. Kumar, a cinematographer, was the one who taught him how to drive.
After receiving the car, Prashanth took the luxury SUV for a drive with the anchor, and they had a casual conversation. In the video, it’s clear how cautious Prashanth is while driving the SUV. He fastens his seatbelt before moving and even says, “Safety first.”
Although this is an old video, the recent interview in which Prashanth was seen riding a motorcycle without a helmet was recorded as part of the promotion for his latest movie, Andhagan. In this controversial interview, he rode the bike without a helmet, leading to action taken by the police.
The actor later issued a statement apologizing for his mistake and emphasized that he takes safety seriously. He explained that the only reason he rode without a helmet was that the microphone would not capture his audio properly if he wore one.
Regarding the BMW X7, it is an extremely popular luxury SUV among celebrities in India. The SUV in the video is the xDrive40i M Sport, which costs Rs 1.27 crore, ex-showroom. It features a massive kidney grille, sleeker redesigned LED headlamps, chrome-garnished air vents, and 3D tail lamps.
The X7 is equipped with dual screens on the dashboard: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Both versions come with a 48v mild hybrid system and an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
