DC2-designed cars and SUVs have always attracted attention from viewers. While their exterior designs are polarizing, there is no doubt that they create some of the most premium-looking cabins for these cars. Several examples of the same are available online, and some have been featured on our website too. Here, we have a new set of images released by DC2 where they’ve built a lounge for the Kia Carens MPV.
The images have been shared by DC2’s Dilip Chhabria on his Facebook page. This is actually a rendered image showing how they can customize the interior of a Kia Carens MPV. The Kia Carens was launched in the market a few years ago and is based on the same platform as the Kia Seltos. It’s a 7-seater three-row MPV that Kia calls a recreational vehicle. It offers a decent amount of space for the occupants, and DC2 probably utilized the existing space to convert it into a lounge.
The first thing one would notice in these images is the seats. The second and third-row seats on this MPV have been removed and replaced with recliners. The seats are custom-made and now come with electrical adjustments, likely including features like massaging and ventilation. There is a center console between the seats with buttons for all the adjustments, and cup holders and a tray table are neatly integrated into it.
The doors and pillars of this MPV have also been customized. The car now has wooden inserts on the doors, and ambient lights have been added too. It appears there is an option for jump seats opposite the recliners, but it’s not clear whether these are electrically controlled or not. The design of the door pads has been completely customized, and the cabin gets a white and wooden accent throughout.
It’s unclear if DC2 will be customizing the driver’s cabin or if they are going to place a partition between the driver and passenger cabin. In this rendered image, we see two entertainment screens placed behind the driver seat headrest. There is no partition between the cabins here. Along with the seats and padding, the roof of this MPV has been customized too. The roof liner has been changed, and it now comes with roof-mounted lights, speakers, and reading lamps. There is a false ceiling-like design included in it.
It does not seem like the MPV would have any dedicated glass roof or sunroof for rear-seat passengers. AC vents can also be seen on the roof. As this is meant to offer a premium experience to the occupants, there is a lot of space in the cabin, and the occupants can actually place luggage behind the recliner seats if they wish. Just like any DC2 lounge, the Kia Carens would also offer features like ambient lights, a refrigerator, and an intercom facility to speak to the driver.
As mentioned above, this is just a render, and the post mentions that interested customers can get in touch with them at +91-8860001712 or 8087631540. The price of this customization starts at Rs 7.50 lakh. The Kia Carens is available with petrol, diesel, and turbo petrol engine options. Customers can choose from manual, iMT, DCT, and automatic transmission options. The price for a brand-new Kia Carens starts at Rs 10.45 lakh, ex-showroom.
