No matter what vehicle you drive, if you are a distracted driver, there’s a very high chance that you’ll end up in an accident. This was recently proven by a Porsche Panamera driver from Delhi. In dashcam footage shared online, a white Porsche can be seen hitting the rear end of a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan at a traffic signal. It can be noted that the entire fault in this situation was of the Porsche driver, and he has been called out for the same.
This video of the accident between a Porsche and a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Prateek Singh. The creator mentions that this clip was shared with him by the owner of a Tata Nexon, which had a dashcam installed. This particular accident even involved this owner’s Nexon.
He stated that this accident took place in Delhi at a signal where he stopped his car after a red light. Following this, we can note what actually happened prior to the accident involving these cars. From the dashcam footage, we can observe that there was a white Porsche Panamera sedan in the rightmost lane.
What happened next?
After we can also note that for some reason when the traffic flow was moving, this particular Porsche Panamera’s driver stopped in the lane in which he was driving. During this time, a white Maruti Ciaz sedan driver overtook him gently and parked right beside another blue Ciaz and behind the Nexon with the dashcam.
Following this, what happens is that the white Ciaz comes and hits the Tata Nexon from behind. However, the main reason why this happened was that the Porsche driver rammed his car into the rear of the white Ciaz.
Soon after this happened, both the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz owner and the Tata Nexon owner came out of their cars. The Nexon owner first moved to the Ciaz owner but soon after realizing that the entire fault was of the Porsche owner, they both started arguing with the Porsche driver.
Why did the Porsche driver hit the Ciaz?
From the video, we cannot fully understand why the Porsche hit the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. We can note that there was ample space on the road, and he even stopped before for some reason. The most probable cause of this accident could be that the Porsche driver was distracted, and he somehow punched the accelerator and rammed into the Ciaz.
Damages to cars
From the video, we can note that after the crash, there were severe damages sustained by both the Porsche and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The front left portion of the Porsche Panamera was destroyed. Its headlight and front bumper were broken.
On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz had to sustain double damages. This is because the rear right end was completely damaged by the Porsche. This involved damages to the boot lid, rear right taillight, and rear bumper.
However, apart from this rear-end damage, the front of the vehicle also sustained equal damage. As the Ciaz drove into the Tata Nexon, its bonnet, grille, and front bumper also got pushed in. Thankfully, the Tata Nexon facelift did not suffer any damages except for some deep scratches on the rear bumper.
