Driving and drinking is a combination that no one recommends. It’s illegal, and can land one straight into jail. We have seen several incidents in the past where people have become overconfident about their driving skills after getting drunk and have ended up in a crash. Here we have one such case from Maharashtra where a Tata Harrier SUV driven by a drunk person crashed into an autorickshaw. Here’s how the SUV and the auto looked after the crash.
The video was shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel and has been shared by one of his subscribers online. The video mentions that a drunk driver in a Tata Harrier rammed his SUV into an autorickshaw.
From the available pictures or images, it looks like the SUV’s front crashed into the left side of the auto. The car was probably being driven at an above-normal speed, which caused the frame and body panels of the auto to crumble.

The roof and the metal bar that separates the passenger and driver cabins were mangled. The video mentions that there is no clarity on whether any passenger was in the auto when the accident happened. We hope that the auto driver and any passenger have escaped from this accident without any serious injuries.
Looking at the Tata Harrier, the SUV’s bonnet, bumper, left-side headlamp, fender, and wheel arch cladding are all damaged. The SUV seen here is the pre-facelift version and managed to absorb the impact pretty well. In this case, it is quite clear that the fault lies with the Harrier driver, as he was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. It is not clear whether the cops have caught the Harrier driver or if he simply fled from the spot.
The auto driver, for no fault of his own, got involved in a crash and is the one who has more damages on the vehicle. This is a great example that shows why one must never drive any vehicle under the influence of alcohol. By doing so, the driver is not just putting his own life at risk, but also the lives of other road users.
It is also not clear whether the Harrier driver crashed into any other vehicle before crashing into the autorickshaw. Driving a car under the influence of alcohol is extremely dangerous. People often become overconfident after drinking, which leads to such accidents. In case you have a drink, leave your vehicle or take a driver.
There are several startups offering chauffeur services to people. They’ll come to your spot, drive your vehicle, and drop you and the vehicle at your doorstep. This way, you can always ensure that you are not getting into trouble for drinking. If you don’t wish to use such services, leave your vehicle at the spot and take public transport or a cab back home.
Drunk people often have compromised senses and slower response times to obstacles on the road. This becomes a risk not only to themselves but also to other road users.
