Along with a considerably loftier asking price, Dodge’s destination charge has also increased from $995 to $1,175. For your additional dollars, you get a notable boost in output. The old Charger R/T was powered by a 5.7-liter Hemi producing 370 horsepower, while the EV will deliver up to 495 hp. The Scat Pack drops its 6.4-liter 485-hp Hemi in favor of up to 670 hp in the Daytona variant. However, those increased outputs are optional.
Cheaper Models Are Still Coming
Dodge says that only dealers will be able to modify the Daytona, and opting for the maximum available output for each trim comes through so-called Power Crystals. The leaked spec sheets don’t show itemized billing for the R/T and Scat Pack’s Direct Connection performance upgrades, which Dodge has already said will be fitted to every Charger in its first model year.
