Electric Volvo S90 Coming To Fight BMW i5

The Volvo EX90 has a twin-motor setup capable of up to 496 horsepower and 671 lb-ft of torque, which sends power to all four wheels.

Dimensions-wise, the ES90 reportedly measures 196.5 inches long, 76.6 inches wide, and 60.9 inches tall, with a wheelbase rated at 122.1 inches. The electric replacement will likely be shorter than the outgoing S90, but the wheelbase will be longer, combining a more spacious cabin with a smaller footprint.

With segment rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz entering the midsize electric category with the i5 and EQE, respectively, it the time is right for Volvo to expand its electrified sedan lineup. Production for the upcoming Volvo ES90 is expected to commence in May 2024 in China.
