Under the pretty bodywork, you’ll find solid front and live rear axles, both equipped with semi-elliptical leaf springs and Luvax dampers. Girling mechanical drum brakes are featured on all four wheels.
Together with the Lagonda Club, former owner Ron Rezek plunged into the vehicle’s past and found some rather interesting tidbits. In its earlier years, the LG45 Rapide was owned by two British individuals, with the second custodian taking delivery just before World War II brought the planet to a standstill.
During this period, the vehicle was cared for by London-based mechanic Josh Shirman, who eventually purchased the vehicle in 1955. However, Shirman only registered the car seven years later and used the vehicle very sparingly. UK Ministry of Transport records show the Lagonda covered just 1,700 miles between 1974 and 2008.
