Bolero modified to Defender

The Mahindra Bolero is one of the older models in the Indian manufacturer’s lineup that is still in production. It has been in production for over two decades. Mahindra has made minor changes to the car to make it compatible with the current emission and safety norms. The basic design of this MUV, however, has remained the same. It comes with a rugged, no-nonsense design and an extremely practical cabin. The car is still very popular among buyers from rural areas due to its practical nature. Many people often modify the Bolero to suit their needs as well. Here, we have a Bolero that has been extensively modified to look like a Land Rover Defender.

The video has been shared by Dayakaran Vlogs on their YouTube channel. The Defender SUV is extremely popular among off-road enthusiasts. Even the new generation model is popular among customers for its off-road capabilities and premium features. However, not everyone can afford to buy this. That is probably why the owner must have ended up modifying this Bolero. The Mahindra Bolero seen here is the 4×4 variant. It has been completely transformed into a previous generation Defender SUV.

The work has been carried out by Big Daddy Modifiers in Punjab. Punjab is known for its love of SUVs and Jeeps. Many even have vintage and classic SUVs in their garages. Most of the parts on this SUV are custom-made, and the workshop has not used any body kits to achieve this look. At the front, there is a rugged-looking off-road spec metal bumper. The metal bumper has integrated projector fog lamps installed in it, along with a bull bar. The front grille of the Bolero was completely removed, and a custom-made unit from metal was installed in its place. The Land Rover Defender-style headlamps with black borders completely change the front look.

The workshop has definitely paid attention to detail and ensured that the car looks just like the Defender in terms of dimensions. The bonnet has also been redesigned as part of this project. The shell of the Bolero was customized to make it look more like the Defender. In order to get the dimensions right, they even increased the overall length of the Bolero too. A 4-inch lift kit has also been installed in this SUV, which has changed the overall stance. The SUV now looks imposing on the road.

The stock rims on the Bolero were also replaced with off-road spec wheels and tires. The character line that we usually see in the original Defender can also be seen here. In most cases, we have seen workshops work extensively to give the car a neat look from the front, and the car loses character by the time it reaches the rear. However, in this case, the workshop put the same effort into the rear as well. The car does resemble an original Defender from all angles, and the workshop did a great job without any doubt. The spare wheel is mounted on a bracket that is resting on the chassis. The third-row seats have been removed at the customer’s request, and the car now has a lot more space on the inside than before
