Ford Honors The Original 1966 Bronco With Release Of The New Bronco Sport and Bronco Sport Heritage Editions

Ford is returning to its roots with the introduction of the 2023 Bronco and Bronco Sport Heritage and Heritage Limited editions. Both special-edition models will be available across the Bronco family lineup, including Bronco two-door, four-door, and Bronco Sport SUVs.

Ford Honors The Original 1966 Bronco With Release Of The New Bronco Sport and Bronco Sport Heritage Editions

“Bronco captivated America in the mid-’60s with its rugged style and uncompromising off-road agility, a legacy that is still prevalent today,” said Mark Grueber, Bronco marketing manager. “With these new Heritage and Heritage Limited editions, we’re paying respect to Bronco’s roots with nods to some of the signature design cues from the first-generation vehicle, while continuing to build the Bronco Brand with more special editions that our customers want.”

Paying homage to its predecessors, the Bronco Heritage models are highlighted by a two-tone paint job that includes signature Oxford White accents and a modular hardtop roof. Featuring trademark Race Red “FORD” lettering, the Oxford White grille is a highlight of the build. At the same time, 17-inch aluminum heritage wheels – also painted in Oxford White – only add to the vintage appeal.

Ford continues tapping into the nostalgia market, incorporating 1960s era-inspired squared fenders with Sasquatch-width fender flares that make Bronco enthusiasts reminisce. Integrated fog lamps and a powder-coated steel capable front bumper with built-in recovery points come standard on both models.

Heritage Limited models also come with gloss black-painted 17-inch heritage wheels, including the classic “dog dish” centers and an Oxford White-painted lip. Inside the Bronco Heritage Edition is an interior that includes plaid cloth seats and exclusive touches like center console badging, exclusive front and rear floor liners, and an Oxford White instrument panel.

The Heritage Limited Edition models offer the increased capability of Ford’s Badlands series equipment and features, including the same 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with up to 330 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. torque. Further differentiating features include leather-trimmed/vinyl plaid seats, metal “Bronco” script fender badging, white and Race Red accent stitching, and unique Heritage Limited console badging. In commemoration of the year the original Bronco debuted, Ford will build only 1,966 units of each Heritage Limited Edition model.

Both Heritage versions include tones of the classic Bronco, with interior touches like plaid cloth seats and a Navy Pier instrument panel with Oxford White accents. The cloth seats feature a heathered Navy Pier with plaid inserts. Navy Pier is a color inspired by the cloth seats available in Bronco in the 1980s.
