British stuntman Paul Swift has broken an incredible record behind the wheel of the new Ford Ranger Raptor, threading the high-performance truck through a gap measuring two feet and 10.6 inches – while driving on two wheels.
The treacherous stunt was pulled off on November 16, better known as Guinness World Records Day, to adrenaline junkies and daredevils. Swift now holds the record for completing the tightest gap driven through by a pickup truck on two wheels, beating the previous record by just one centimeter (0.39 inches).
Getting a Ranger Raptor on two wheels – and then controlling it – is already an achievement. Still, Swift managed to drive through the narrow gap with the type of precision only a professional driver has. Making it all the more challenging were the windy conditions, which played around with the teetering pickup.
“This car has quite a lot of suspension travel,” remarked Swift. “Trying to keep it nice and stable while it went through the gap was my biggest challenge. But I am delighted that we’ve got it.”
