Ford's Most Hated Mustang Just Got More Lovable

Ford has just taken the wraps off the 2025 Mustang Mach-E and Mustang Mach-E Rally, bestowing upon both models features that make the electric crossovers more attractive, more efficient, and more convenient. Among the updates are a new heat pump, new wheel and color options, and the latest version of BlueCruise.

The center console has also been redesigned to free up a little more space, with the rotary dial used as a shifter being replaced by a less clumsy column-mounted stalk. In its place, there are now two small compartments for storing things like keys and wallets. These changes are based on customer feedback, both given directly to the automaker by customers and gleaned from online forums.

Upgraded Tech And Efficiency

With the latest available version of BlueCruise, customers are now able to initiate automatic lane changes during highway driving, possible when the vehicle ahead is slower than the set speed or if a vehicle is following too closely in the passing lane. There is also a new Ford Connectivity Package providing a 5G WiFi hotspot, various apps, and connected maps with an EV trip planner.

Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free system is more affordable than before, and can now be obtained through a one-time purchase.

Unlike the latest Ford Expedition, the Mustang Mach-E still makes do with a portrait-oriented center infotainment display. A new standard heat pump helps to improve efficiency, particularly in cold weather conditions, when EV batteries take longer to reach their optimum operating window.

Updated Styling

The Mustang Mach-E is available in Select, Premium, GT, and Rally guises, each with subtle styling variations. For 2025, the Premium trim gets access to a new Sport Appearance Package with the front fascia and grille shield, painted red front Brembo brake calipers, and gloss black 19-inch wheels of the GT model. The package also adds black-painted door cladding and wheel lips.

Not that fans are cross-shopping anyway.

Inside, Premium trims now get ventilated front seats as standard, red accent stitching, and sport pedals. Three new wheel designs, including a Dark Carbonize Gray wheel for the Rally model, will be offered, along with three new optional colors.

New Colors For 2025:

  • Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
  • Velocity Blue Metallic
  • Desert Sand

The 2025 Mustang Mach-E will be available early next year with a starting MSRP of $36,495, which is a notable drop from the current base MSRP of $39,995 (both figures excluding destination charges, which for 2024 is $1,995).

“We’ve built strong relationships with our customers over the last four years, and continue to make upgrades based on their feedback. We’re dedicated to giving them the best version of Mustang Mach-E possible, and that means giving them features they have been asking for, like the new heat pump and more interior space up front.”
