To achieve this, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four gets a smorgasbord of modifications, including ported cylinder heads, high-pressure fuel pumps, custom cams, high-compression pistons, R&R aluminum rods, and a Magnus intake manifold, to name just a few.

Interestingly, this build exclusively uses direct injection. The engine block has also been replaced by a modified MazdaSpeed3 unit, which he claims is more robust than Ford’s blocks.

Finally, the build incorporates a massive Precision turbocharger, aided with shots of nitrous oxide. According to the builder, they have already increased the boost to 60 psi with no issues. While no power figures were provided for the car running that much boost, it is at least a testament to the latest build’s durability. Let’s hope it doesn’t blow up like the earlier versions.
