Social media is a major part of our lives now. There are many people around us who have taken social media as a full-time job and have started making money from it. In most cases, these people come from very humble backgrounds, and with their dedication and hard work, they eventually find success. Here we have a video of one such influencer, PR Sundar, who started as a school teacher and is currently a prominent figure in India’s stock market world. He owns a Rolls Royce Phantom in Dubai and recently brought the car to Chennai via Carnet. He shares his experience of owning and bringing the car to India in this video.

The video has been shared by Behindwoods O2 on their YouTube channel. In this video, the anchor talks to Mr. PR Sundar about his experience with the car and how he brought it to Chennai.

Unlike other videos where we see the owners sitting in the rear seat, PR Sundar is seen driving the car in this entire video. Not only does he drive, but he also lets the anchor drive the multi-crore Phantom in the video.

Sundar mentions that he owned this car in Dubai and saw several expensive car owners from Kerala shipping their cars to Kochi and driving them on Kerala roads. Seeing that, he wanted to bring the car to Chennai. When he spoke to the authorities about the same, he didn’t get a positive response at first. That was because not many people had done something like this in Chennai, and the officers were not aware of the process.

He then got in touch with an agent in India who was familiar with the formalities and got the issues resolved. All this time, the Rolls Royce was actually in a shipping container in Dubai, as Sundar refused to ship it until all the formalities were taken care of. The Phantom, as many of us know, is here on Carnet, which is a temporary passport for goods.

Using Carnet, a person can import a car to India without paying import tax and duty on that particular vehicle. The car is usually imported for a period of 6 to 12 months, which is why it is exempted from import tax and duty.

Sundar mentions that due to taxes in India, the Rolls Royce Phantom seen in the video would cost around Rs 14 crore. However, the same car would cost him around 6-7 crores in Dubai.

He is settled in Dubai and found that he can save a lot and also fulfill his wish of driving a Rolls Royce in Chennai by buying the car in Dubai. In fact, he only had to spend around Rs 7-8 lakh to get the car shipped to India, including all other fees and formalities.

He bought the car for his son’s marriage and will be using it for 6 months before taking it back. He said that people have been noticing this car a lot on the road.

It is probably because people have not seen many Dubai-registered cars on the roads of Chennai. He also mentions that he came from a very humble background where his father couldn’t have even imagined buying a car. The reason why he bought his car was to honor his late father. He even took the house help’s kids for a joyride in this car and shared the same on social media.

PR Sundar also mentions that he stays in the same building as Tamil superstar Vijay and has seen his Rolls Royce a couple of times in the underground parking. Sundar has owned cars like Tata Sumo, Indica, Indigo, and Chevrolet Optra in the past. He even owned a Mercedes-Benz but feels that this Rolls Royce is the ultimate in terms of comfort and performance.
