In the Cadillac super sedan, the tuning company threw a larger supercharger into the mix, along with several upgraded internals to handle the increased power. This allowed the tuned CT5-V Blackwing to get an improved 0-60 mph sprint of 2.5 seconds, with a top speed beyond 200 mph.
The LT6 in the Z06 is a different beast altogether, primarily because it’s a high-strung, naturally aspirated monster. It may not be as easily boostable as other Chevy products engineered with supercharging in mind from the get-go.
We’ll know more details about the upcoming Hennessey Corvette Z06 upgrade soon and, hopefully, a drag race showdown versus other 1,000-hp monsters the company is known for.
