Hennessey, the Texas-based automotive powerhouse behind some of today’s most iconic hypercars and high-performance vehicles, has just announced their new performance upgrade package for four GM SUVs – the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, and GMC Yukon. This game-changing makeover promises wild acceleration and breathtaking driving dynamics, taking its power output from a standard 420 bhp up to 650 bhp in mere seconds.
Hennessey’s engineering team has gone to great lengths to maximize the performance potential of GM’s 6.2-liter V8 (L87 EcoTec3). These components include a 2.9-liter supercharger, high flow intake system, intercoolers installed in addition to Chromoly pushrods, HPE engine management calibration updates, and stainless steel catback exhaust systems with stock tips fitted for improved soundtracks. This culminates in dyno-tested power ratings of 650 bhp and an impressive 658 lb.-ft of torque.
The modified Hennessey Supercharged H650 Escalade offers an impressive 230-horsepower boost to its already powerful engine, slashing the 0 – 60 mph sprint time down from 6.1 seconds in a stock Cadillac Escalade to just 5.3 seconds. The quarter-mile run also sees a dramatic improvement of nearly one full second (at 13.5 seconds total), complete with louder and more resonant exhaust piping for a truly exhilarating driving experience.
Hennessey has crafted the ultimate upgrade for various GM SUVs with their ‘H650’ package. Compatible model years starting from 2021 boast an improved 6.2-liter V8 engine, and the H650 upgrade can be applied to the Cadillac Escalade, ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and both varieties of GMC Yukon, offering power and performance for a wide range of vehicles.
“Our team is very excited about this supercharging development for GM’s 6.2-liter V8, as it offers a huge audience of GM SUV owners the ability to bump power by an impressive 230 horsepower – that’s a 55 percent increase in power,” company founder and CEO John Hennessey says. “Additionally, the improved torque increases drivability at all speeds and enhances towing. The H650 upgrade literally transforms sedate family SUVs into performance vehicles.”
Hennessey’s 6.2-liter V8 upgrades retain the hallmark ride and drivability customers have come to expect from their SUVs without altering any of its drive modes or all-wheel capabilities. Every custom engine endures a comprehensive production and testing program that evaluates its performance on both the dyno test stand as well as real-world road conditions.
Hennessey’s H650 upgrade comes complete with a uniquely serial-numbered engine plaque and an extensive 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. GM SUVs can be upgraded through authorized retailers or directly from Hennessey for a total cost of $27,950 (base SUV price not included). International orders are also accepted.
