Hennessey Performance has been testing an experimental aerodynamic setup for the Venom F5. But unlike the usual headlines connected to the storied American supercar maker, the Venom F5 was met with an unfortunate accident.
In an email to CarBuzz, Hennessey Performance said it tested a new aero kit for the 1,817-horsepower V8-powered supercar on July 1 at the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. However, during a sprint to 250 mph from a standstill – achieved within 4,000 feet, if we may add – the Venom F5 factory prototype lost downforce, causing the driver to lose control. Fortunately, only the car sustained damage, with the driver walking away from the incident unscathed.
