But, the question we’re really asking is whether a top-shelf Ioniq 6, selling for $57,440, compares to a mid-range 2024 Polestar 2, at $55,300. The Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor is all-wheel drive, cranking out 421 horses, with an impressive suite of luxury features like adaptive cruise control and multi-zone AC.

Trim all the fat, and you’ve still got a car that doesn’t quite offer the same luxury experience as its nearest competitors do for the same price. At $51,000, the base Limited model delivers 225 hp and comes with a fairly limited suite of features, while a $49,900 Polestar 2 offers 299 hp, heated front seats, and automatic parking. Besides all that, the Polestar 2 just offers a better feel to the interior, with high-end materials throughout, optional leather and wood trim, and beautiful cabin design from top to bottom. Hyundai can do luxury if that’s what you want, but Polestar is a Volvo brand, and exquisite interiors are second-nature to them.

We’re not knocking the Hyundai Ioniq 6. It just happens to be a car that makes a lot more sense at the entry level and mid-range. If you want luxury, the Polestar delivers more for less.
