Overspeeding is a major issue. Most people on Indian road do not follow the speed limits. We have seen several examples in the past where such overspeeding vehicles have caused accidents on road. People often drive fast on narrow roads to show off their driving skills to others. These drivers create a dangerous driving environment for other innocent road users. Here we have one such incident reported from Maharashtra where a Toyota Fortuner driver lost control on the vehicle at high speed. The overspeeding vehicle moved away from the road and crashed into the house of a farmer.
The video has been uploaded by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. The video was shared to him by one of his subscribers. As per the video, the accident happend somewhere on Nashik Trimbakeshwar road. According to the video, a Toyota Fortuner that was passing through the road at high speed lost control and moved away from the road. The SUV was probably doing triple digit speed when it happend. The SUV driver could not do much after it lost control.
The SUV had so much momentum that even after getting off the road, it continued to move forward. The SUV was actually moving through a farm and it was destroying the crop too. The SUV finally stopped after crashing into the wall of the house of a farmer. The wall was damaged and a motorcycle that belonged to the farmer was also destroyed in this accident.
The car broke the wall of the house and we can clearly see that it has crashed into one of the rooms of the farmers house. Luckily, the occupants in the car were all safe the accident. The exact reason why the SUV lost control is not known however, we assume that the driver might have been driving at extremely high speed on this narrow stretch of road as seen in the video. Even the undulations of the road is enough to make an SUV like Fortuner go out of control.
This is one of the reason why it is recommended to drive within the speed limits. The video does not say anything about the people living in the house. We assume that they also escaped the accident without any injuries. The Toyota Fortuner driver and occupants were extremely happy to have escaped the crash without any injuries. If the SUV were crash into a tree or any other passing vehicle, the end to story could have been different.
The farm land actually acted as a run off area for the SUV to slow down before crashing into the house. Indian roads are not meant for such high speed stunts especially if you are driving through a village. There are several factors like wild animals, stray cattle, street dogs that pose threat to the cars drivers. Things get even more difficult at night as many roads do no have proper street lights and the high beam from vehicles coming from opposite lane blinds the driver completely. The Fortuner driver not only risked his own life but also the life of other road users and also destroyed the house and land of an innocent farmer.
