25 years ago, a new PUMA silhouette paid homage to the world’s most prestigious and intense racing series: F1. Inspired by the fireproof racing gear worn by the sports daring drivers, the Speedcat sneaker silhouette was sleek and aerodynamic. Now, a new re-released collection of the low-top PUMA Speedcat sneaker is coming back and has been freshly dropped, in new colorways that continue to nod to racing legends.
The new OG PUMA Speedcat is finished in suede, an iconic material for PUMA and a material known for its use in the world of motorsport, and it revives a silhouette worn by Grand Prix racing legends. Currently, the sneaker is available in two colorways, released in both women’s and men’s sizes: red and black, which both feature white contrasting PUMA details, and laces in the same primary color as the rest of the shoe.
Available to shop now, the new OG PUMA Speedcat Collection retails for $100. Motorsport enthusiasts can incorporate racing-inspired style into everyday looks with the new shoe, and PUMA has also announced that more colorways of the OG Speedcat collection will be available later this year. With the re-release of this iconic sneaker silhouette, PUMA is reviving the glory of retro motorsport.
