The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has successfully completed testing, with the SE Long Range RWD trim boasting an impressive EPA-estimated range of 361 miles and its SE AWD sibling achieving a still-impressive 316-mile range.
The IONIQ 6 SE RWD Long Range has achieved a 140 combined MPGe rating, verified by the EPA. This fuel-efficient performance puts it on par with two of Lucid Air’s top models and earns it a spot on Fueleconomy.gov’s 2023 Top Ten Vehicles list.
“Continually improving the efficiency of our vehicles is always a top priority for our development teams,” said Olabisi Boyle, Vice President, Product Planning and Mobility Strategy at Hyundai Motor North America. “Instead of just adding a larger battery to increase the range, we chose to optimize IONIQ 6’s aerodynamic performance and its Electric-Global Modular Platform for efficiency to produce these long driving ranges.”
The IONIQ 6 is designed with aerodynamic efficiency in mind. Its ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.22 is achieved through an impressive suite of exterior features, such as a low nose and active air flaps alongside more subtle touches like separation traps and elliptical wing spoilers with winglets at the rear bumper for increased balance between form and function.
The final EPA-estimated Range for each trim package is as follows:
- IONIQ 6 SE RWD Long Range (18-inch wheels) – 361 miles
- IONIQ 6 SE AWD Long Range (18-inch wheels) – 316 miles
- IONIQ 6 SEL RWD (20-inch wheels) – 305 miles
- IONIQ 6 SEL AWD (20-inch wheels) – 270 miles
- IONIQ 6 Limited RWD (20-inch wheels) – 305 miles
- IONIQ 6 Limited AWD (20-inch wheels) – 270 miles
