There will be some practical features on display, too. Mobis will show its new 22kW Charging Control Unit, designed with vehicle-to-grid applications in mind. The main selling point is that it offers precisely double the power of the current industry standard of 11 kW.
This will basically halve the time it takes for an EV to charge. We’ll use the Hyundai Ioniq 6 as an example, as it’s currently one of the cars with the highest electric range out there. It takes 18 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, but with this new system, you’ll be on your way in less than 10 minutes.
Hyundai has also promised that its display will be interactive for the first time. Previously, it used mainly visual presentations, but showgoers will be able to get into the Mobion and poke around. We’ll be there, so check our social media channels for updates.
