Pickup trucks, as private vehicles, are quite popular in Western countries. However, for some reason, the Indian market has not been very welcoming. There are manufacturers like Isuzu that have managed to attract some buyers with the V-Cross and D-Max. Even in this case, it is not a high-volume seller. It only appeals to a very small section of people. We do have a large market for these pickup trucks in the commercial segment. Earlier this year, Tata launched their Yodha 2.0 commercial pickup truck. What makes this truck special is that it comes with both 4×2 and 4×4 options. Here, we have a video where India’s most affordable 4×4 pickup truck is shown in a walkaround video.
The video has been shared by Namaste Car on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks about the exterior, interior, and other specifications of the truck. The Yodha pickup truck is available in single and dual-cab options. The single-cab version is known as Yodha 2.0, and the dual-cab version is called EX Crew cab. The price for the new Yodha starts at Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The design of the Yodha is similar to the older version. The manufacturer has made minor changes to give it a muscular and rugged look.
Tata is offering a halogen headlamp, provisions to install fog lamps, and reflectors around the fog lamp area. The bumper is not body-colored, as it is meant to be a commercial truck. The revised front grille, along with all the minor changes, gives it a fresh look. The Yodha seen here in the video does not look like the 4×4 variant. The Tata Yodha comes with 16-inch steel rims as standard. It has 210mm of ground clearance, a length of 5,350 mm, width of 1,860 mm, and height of 1,810 mm. Customers can choose from 2000 kg, 1,200 kg, and 1,700 kg payload versions.

Tata is also offering parking sensors at the rear, along with reflectors. This commercial pickup gets leaf spring suspension to handle rough patches and the weight. The cabin on the Yodha 2.0 looks basic, like any commercial cab in the market. The parking brake is placed on the right-hand side of the driver’s seat. It does get AC but does not offer a music system. The seats have fabric covers, and the basic steering wheel with an analog instrument cluster and MID can be seen here. The MID shows various details like trip meter, odometer readings, fuel level, engine temperature, gear shift indicator, and so on. There is an Eco mode and also a button to disconnect the battery in the Yodha 2.0.
Tata Yodha is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder DI diesel engine, which produces a maximum power output of 100 PS and a peak torque output of 250 Nm. It is the same engine that was available with the previous version. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Both the single-cab and dual-cab versions of the Yodha 2.0 are available with 4×4 options. While this is the most affordable pickup truck available in the market, we are not sure whether you can register it as a private vehicle.
