Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s largest carmaker, has captured the hearts of many off-roading enthusiasts with its newest lifestyle off-roader, the Jimny. Buyers have formed long queues outside Maruti dealerships to get their hands on one. However, despite its popularity, critics have not hesitated to point out its shortcomings. Recently, a Maruti Suzuki Jimny was modified with a custom Old Man nitrogen suspension, a full custom metal bumper, and the entire modification process was shared online in a video. The car has also been equipped with additional accessories.

The video of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny modification was uploaded on YouTube by Swastikfabs 4×4 Equipments on their channel. The video begins with a stock Jimny entering a compound where the modifications were installed. In the initial clips, the car is shown with all the parts laid out in front. The technicians then proceed to remove all four wheels from the car and replace the old springs and suspension parts with the Old Man Nitrogen suspension.

As the video progresses, the technicians install the ARB Base Rack on the roof of the Jimny. This base rack provides extra storage space and can also serve as the foundation for a roof-mounted tent. Next, they remove the front bumper and replace it with a brand new full metal ARB Winch Compatible Bumper, finished in black. They also install the Warm M 8000 winch on the bumper. Finally, for performance modifications, the technicians install a carbon fiber BMC air filter in the Jimny’s engine bay. The car’s transformation is completed, and from the video, it is evident that it looks amazing and ready for off-road adventures.

Modifications that offer advantages for off-road vehicles

Lift Kits

Installing a lift kit on your off-road vehicle helps increase ground clearance, allowing you to navigate obstacles without damaging the undercarriage. It also improves approach and departure angles, enhancing the vehicle’s capability to climb steep inclines and descend challenging descents.

All-Terrain Tires

Equipping your vehicle with high-quality all-terrain tires designed for off-road use is crucial. These tires offer improved traction, durability, and sidewall strength, ensuring better grip on surfaces such as mud, sand, rocks, and gravel. They also enhance stability and maneuverability, giving you the confidence to tackle demanding terrains.

Winch

A winch is a powerful tool that can save you from getting stuck in sticky situations. It can be a lifesaver when traversing through deep mud or recovering from off-camber situations. A properly mounted winch allows for self-recovery or assisting others, providing peace of mind and ensuring that you can overcome challenging obstacles on the trail.

Skid Plates

Installing skid plates on critical components like the engine, transmission, and fuel tank offers added protection against rocks, logs, and other hazards. Skid plates safeguard vulnerable parts from potential damage, allowing you to venture confidently over rugged terrains without worrying about costly repairs or getting stranded.

Auxiliary Lighting

Off-road expeditions often involve low-light or nighttime driving. Upgrading your vehicle with high-quality auxiliary lighting, such as LED light bars or spotlights, greatly enhances visibility in dark and remote areas. These lights illuminate the surroundings, giving you a clear view of the path ahead, potential hazards, and wildlife. They also provide additional safety by making your vehicle more visible to others on the trail.
