Today, we know Lamborghini as a symbol of aspiration, one of the pinnacle manufacturers in teh automotive industry known for delivering the highest levels of performance, stunning design and luxury, but 60 years ago, the Lamborghini brand had only just been introduced to the automotive world. As the brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary, it is acknowledging 60 years since the construction of its factory, and looking back on its long history. Ferrucio Lamborghini, the Fighting Bull brand’s founder, chose the factory’s location as its location in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, was close to his hometown of Cento, Italy.
The first part of the factory was built in only eight months, and the core structure of the original factory remains to this day. When the 350 GTV prototype was shown to journalists in October 1963, the complete main structure was visible in photographs. As the brand rapidly grew, more buildings and spaces were constructed, and growth continued as the Audi Group acquired Lamborghini in 1998, with the Lamborghini Centro Stile opening in 2003, and today, the factory creates the Huracan, Urus, and production of the Aventador has given way to the 60th-anniversary replacement flagship supercar, which is due to be revealed in mere days. As the historic factory sees its 60th anniversary, a new era is about to begin.
