The number of supercar owners in India has increased in the last decade. These expensive cars are extremely powerful, and not everyone can handle that kind of power. People often take these cars to expressways and race tracks to unleash their power. Driving such powerful cars fast inside the city is always risky and can often lead to accidents. This is one of the major reasons why many people who own supercars often take them out on weekends when traffic is low. Recently, we came across an incident from Delhi where a Lamborghini Urus, driven by youngsters, crashed into an autorickshaw after losing control.

According to the reports available online, the Lamborghini Urus accident happened in Delhi’s Chirag Dilli area on Sunday morning. The driver of the Lamborghini Urus, identified as Rajbir Sardana (21), was returning from a party with his friend. The Lamborghini Urus somehow lost control on the Chirag Dilli flyover and crashed into an autorickshaw. Both the autorickshaw driver and the passenger were injured. The passenger in the autorickshaw was actually an engineer with an airline company who was traveling to IGI airport for work. Both the driver and the passenger were admitted to the hospital.

From the pictures now available online, the intensity of the crash is visible. The left-hand side of the Lamborghini Urus probably crashed into the rear of the autorickshaw. The accident happened during rainy weather in Delhi. The rear of the autorickshaw has a huge dent, and the cabin has also been damaged. The left fender, bumper, and headlamp of the Lamborghini Urus were damaged in the accident. The alloy wheels and the tires of this SUV were also damaged. It is not clear whether this was a case of drinking and driving, as the driver was returning from a party. The driver was arrested but later released, as it was a bailable offense. The Lamborghini Urus is the fastest-selling model from the Italian car manufacturer in the world. This is an expensive SUV with a starting price of around Rs 3.5 crore, ex-showroom. Looking at the pictures from the accident scene, it is quite clear that the owner will have to spend a significant amount to get the car repaired. Maintaining and repairing an expensive and exotic car like the Lamborghini Urus will cost lakhs. The repairs alone are likely to cost him tens of lakhs. Hopefully, he has insurance for the car.

The Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged petrol engine that generates 650 PS and 850 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and power is sent to all four wheels. The price mentioned above is only for the entry-level variant. Depending on the customizations and performance packages, the cost of the car increases. Even the paint job on the Lamborghini Urus can be customized according to the customer’s liking.
