Images of the new Volkswagen Tiguan have leaked online, providing our best look yet at the German compact crossover. The new model will abandon the handsome, square-jawed looks of the current model in favor of a smoother, more organic look.
The profile resembles the larger Touareg (not sold in the USA), while the front fascia has traces of the Golf 8 and the all-electric ID.4 SUV. The headlights appear to be connected by a light bar, which will presumably house daytime running lights. The large radiator grille takes up most of the front bumper, but thankfully, the license plate mounting breaks it up.
Black plastic cladding found on the lower bits of the vehicle injects some ruggedness into the Tiguan. At the same time, the generous ground clearance gives the impression of a proper SUV, not a jacked-up crossover.
