LEAKED: Kia Stinger Replacement Coming In 2026

Kia will likely introduce different powertrain setups for the base and mid-spec models, with single- and dual-motor options providing rear- and all-wheel drive at various price points.

According to KCB, the former will generate 218 hp while the latter could deliver 435 hp thanks to the addition of a frontal motor.

The leaked document shows the Stinger replacement will be built at the automaker’s Hwaseong Plant 3 by 2026, but it’s possible that production may be spread elsewhere. The Kia EV9, for example, will be produced in the US, as Kia will produce EVs in Georgia starting in 2025 in a bid to receive the full $7,500 EV tax credit.

Wherever it’s built, we just hope the EV8 lives up to the standard set by the Stinger. Kia touted the EV6 GT as the spiritual successor to the Stinger GT, but we never really bought it.
