Lotus Elise-Based EV Can Fully Charge In Just Six Minutes

There’s also an Israeli company called StoreDot that built a battery that can be charged from 15 to 100 percent in five minutes as tested on a two-wheeled electric scooter.

Nyobolt, on the other hand, shared that its new battery technology is smaller and lighter compared to the current standard pack found in today’s EVs. The company claims that this results in a nimbler and more efficient EV with a lower up-front cost, lower running costs, and lower use of scarce raw materials.

Despite the ultra-fast charging time, Nyobolt said that it doesn’t affect the battery life as it has tested its batteries for over 2,000 fast charge cycles without significant performance loss.

The Nyobolt EV concept’s exterior is designed by Julian Thomson, the man behind the original Lotus Elise. He based the Nyobolt EV concept on the lightweight sports car as seen in the vehicle’s overall stance and shape.
