Now, as part of one such experiment, a video of a Mahindra Scorpio-N being used instead of a tractor for farming has recently been shared online. What’s even more mind-boggling is that there was no driver behind the steering wheel while this Scorpio-N was plowing the field.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Replaces Tractor
This video of a Mahindra Scorpio-N being used as a replacement for a tractor has been shared on Instagram. It comes courtesy of Zero Cars. In this short clip, we can note a white Mahindra Scorpio-N driving. The entire car was covered in a thick layer of mud.
Following this, we can then see that this Scorpio-N was slowly driving on the field with its door open. It is at this point we can observe that there was no one sitting in the driver’s seat. In addition to this, there was plowing equipment attached to the rear end of this Mahindra Scorpio-N.
In most farming fields, we see this equipment being attached to a tractor. However, the owner of this particular Mahindra Scorpio-N thought it might be a fun idea to use this SUV as a tractor replacement. In the video, he states that the Scorpio-N is performing great.
Mahindra Scorpio-N 4X4
Mahindra Automotive offers the Scorpio-N with its 4Xplor off-roading system. It comprises terrain modes that help optimize traction for different terrains. Its drive modes include snow, sand, mud, and normal. Additionally, the Scorpio-N gets 4-Low and 4-High gear options as well.
Apart from these features, the SUV also comes with rear mechanical locking differentials and brake locking differential. Other off-roading features of this SUV include hill descent control and off-road statistics on the infotainment system.
How To Properly Use the Off-Road System?
When driving on normal roads, the off-roading system does not make much of a difference. However, when driving on tricky terrains like snow, mud, or gravel, it is recommended to use the 4X4 high to improve the traction of the vehicle. With this mode, the vehicle can be driven at speeds up to 60-80 kmph.
However, when the vehicle gets stuck in an odd spot where it cannot get out easily, this is when the 4X4 Low range comes in handy. It provides the wheels with the most power and torque and can help bring the vehicle out of any obstacle.
How Does 4X4 Low Mode Work?
Now that we have mentioned that if you get stuck, you should use the 4X4 low, we also need to explain how it works. So when you engage 4X4 low, the vehicle’s transfer case shifts to a lower gear ratio. This lower gearing then increases the torque sent to each wheel.
Following this, it allows the vehicle to move with much more power at a very low speed. Basically, it increases the engine’s torque output and makes it easier to overcome difficult obstacles and extreme conditions.
Now, there is a limitation to the use of 4X4 low: the vehicle cannot be driven at high speed. It can only be driven up to a maximum speed of 40 kmph. Also, make sure to never use 4X4 mode on normal roads, as it can damage the transfer case.
