Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently the talk of the town. Mahindra once again surprised everyone with the pricing of the Thar Roxx. The Mahindra Thar Roxx sits between the three-door Thar and the Mahindra Scorpio N. We all know that the Roxx is actually based on the Scorpio N platform. Both of these SUVs offer premium features, but the recently launched Thar Roxx offers more when it comes to features. Here we have a list of features that are offered with the Roxx but not the Scorpio N.
Both the Mahindra Scorpio N and Thar Roxx are offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engine in the Thar Roxx is tuned differently when compared with the Scorpio N. It generates 30 Nm less torque compared to the Scorpio N. When it comes to features, the Thar Roxx takes the trophy home.
In fact, Mahindra has priced the Thar Roxx in such a manner that the top-end fully loaded variant is going to be cheaper than the Scorpio N. While the Scorpio N has bigger dimensions, it is the Thar Roxx that offers a longer wheelbase. This means there is more space for occupants in the SUV. The Scorpio N has a 2750 mm wheelbase while the Thar Roxx has 2850 mm.
Wheels
The Mahindra Thar Roxx offers 19-inch alloy wheels with the top-end models. The Scorpio N, on the other hand, only offers 18-inch wheels. In fact, even the flagship XUV700 only offers 18-inch wheels.
Audio System
The Thar Roxx comes with a premium audio system from Harman/Kardon, while the Scorpio N gets the Sony Immersive Audio system as an option in the higher variants.
Instrument Cluster
The Mahindra Scorpio N gets a 7-inch TFT display, while the higher variants of the Thar Roxx come with a 10.25-inch fully digital display.
Camera
The Scorpio N only comes with front and rear camera options, while the Thar Roxx comes with a 360-degree camera setup.
Infotainment
The Scorpio N gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the Roxx gets a bigger 10.25-inch screen similar to the XUV700. It looks good and gives the dashboard a premium look.
Sunroof
Mahindra is offering a large panoramic sunroof with the Roxx, while the Scorpio N gets the regular electric sunroof.
ADAS
One of the major features that the Roxx offers and the Scorpio N doesn’t is Level 2 ADAS. It comes with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency brakes, and so on.
ELD & BLD
The Mahindra Thar Roxx offers an Electric Locking Differential at the rear and BLD for the front wheels. The Scorpio N, on the other hand, only comes with BLD.
Intelli-turn
This is another feature that Mahindra is offering with the Thar but not with the Scorpio N. This feature reduces the turning radius of the SUV while off-roading by locking the inner rear wheel.
Other than this, Mahindra is also offering features like Crawl Smart, which is extremely helpful while off-roading or while driving through tricky terrains.
Mahindra is also offering an electronic parking brake with the Roxx, while the Scorpio N gets a manual handbrake. The Roxx comes with 19-inch wheels for the top-end variant, and even the spare wheels are of the same size and alloy. However, in the Scorpio N, it gets a full-size steel rim as the spare wheel.
