The video has been shared by Srini Subramaniyam on his X profile. In this video, we see a Toyota Fortuner parked on the side of the road inside the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. The occupants inside the Fortuner have stopped the car and are observing a herd of deer. We then see one of the passengers running toward the jungle from the car.
He is actually running toward the herd of deer grazing next to the road. As the animals spot the man running, they get scared and run away. The video was recorded by a person who was right behind the Fortuner. There are multiple violations happening in this one video, and it looks like the man was performing this stunt just for the sake of creating a viral video on social media.
As the man runs toward the deer and comes back, we see one of the other passengers in the car recording a video. It appears that the video did go viral, and the concerned authorities, including the Masinagudi Forest Department, came across it. They were very quick to take action.
In fact, the department imposed a fine of ₹15,000 on the tourists who ran toward the herd of deer. While driving through wildlife sanctuaries, you are never supposed to stop the vehicle or get out of it. This is for the safety of the occupants as well as the peace of the animals living there.
The tourists not only stopped the car but also got out and disturbed the wildlife. This is actually an offense, and that is why the authorities took action. The registration plate of the SUV seen here in the video is not clear, as they are not using an HSR plate. The number plate on this SUV is fancy, which is illegal as well.

Probably they paid that money in 15 seconds and left. Fines should be like: 1. Walk the entire stretch alone from 9 pm till 5 am multiple times. 2. Ask all of their parents to come over.” “He has a car with a number plate 1—which he would have got for lakhs—so 15k is pocket money for him.”
In the past, we have seen videos of men being chased by elephants after they stopped their vehicle to take a selfie with the animal. The tourists in this case were extremely lucky that there was no predatory animal around when the man ran toward the deer. Even a wild bear could have attacked if it had been present in that area, and things wouldn’t have ended as they did in the video.
