Powerful people in India live under the misconception that they own the roads. Recently, a video showing how such people disregard laws has been shared online. In this short video, a Tata Curvv passenger is seen stepping out of his coupe SUV with a gun after the driver of his car stopped in the middle of the road. The video shows this person carrying a gun and talking to others on the road, despite his vehicle blocking traffic.
Normal Kanpur Road-Rage Kalesh (There were four people sitting in the car. The driver stopped in the middle of the road and went to buy flowers. People around were asking him to move. Tata Curvv stopped in the middle of the road
This video, showing a gangster-like passenger with a gun talking to angry road users, has been shared on X. It comes courtesy of Ghar Ke Kalesh. From the video, we can note that a red Tata Curvv coupe SUV was parked in the middle of a busy road.
A bus, along with many other vehicles, can be seen piled up in a traffic jam behind this Curvv. Additionally, we can observe a few people wearing suits talking to a person standing at a shop on the side of the road.
This particular person appears to be the driver of the Tata Curvv parked on the road. It can be heard that these angry people were asking the man on the phone to move his vehicle.
What Happened Here?
According to the post shared, the Tata Curvv, which had four people in it, stopped in the middle of the road. After this, the driver went to buy flowers, and all the other vehicles behind his car were stopped. Following this, when angry people from the traffic were asking the driver to move his vehicle, a passenger from the rear of the Tata Curvv came out with a rifle.
In the video, we can note that rather than asking the driver of his car to move it, the passenger with the rifle started arguing with the angry motorists on the road.
Thankfully, the person carrying the rifle was not pointing it at anyone. In the video, we can note that the driver of the Curvv also requests him to go and sit inside the car. After this, the video ends, but our guess is that the driver then moved the vehicle to let the traffic clear.
Is Carrying Guns Legal in India?
When it comes to laws regarding firearms, including guns, rifles, and others, India has a very strict stance, unlike some other countries. In India, for an individual to have a firearm, a license must be acquired from a district magistrate or police commissioner.
Following this, a series of background checks, police verifications, and justification for needing the firearm take place. Most people in India who legally own a firearm obtain the license on the basis of self-defense. They are informed that they cannot display their firearms in public without a reasonable cause.
However, in India, some people with the power to own a gun with a license think they can get away with showing their weapons in public. They mostly use their firearms, intended for self-defense, to boast about their power and wealth. In this case, as well, the passenger with the gun only came out to scare the angry public.
Will Police Take Action Against This Person?
At the moment, it has not been reported whether the Kanpur police have started an investigation into this matter of displaying a firearm in public. However, as the video has gone viral, police authorities will most likely need to take action to prevent others from flaunting their weapons on the road.
