Indica bought back after 10 years

There are people who consider cars a simple mode of transport, but for some, cars and bikes work like therapy. They are more than just vehicles. Especially in India, we welcome cars or vehicles into our family as new members. After using a car for years, we often upgrade to a new or bigger vehicle and are forced to sell the old one. While we buy new and more cars for our garage, there is always a part of your heart that wants to know what happened to your first car. Well, that is what happened in this case, and here we have a video showing how a person tracked down a Tata Indica, which was the family’s first car, sold 10 years ago.

The video was shared by Weekend Automotive on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see the presenter talk about a 2003 Tata Indica. He mentions at the beginning that it is not a rare or desirable car, but the reason why he bought it was purely personal. This was a very important car in his life. It was the first car that his family had ever bought.

His family bought this Tata Indica in 2003. It was not actually their first car as they had upgraded from a Premier Padmini. However, when compared to the Premier Padmini, the Tata Indica was a big leap and a huge moment for the family. They went through the whole process of shortlisting, taking test drives, making bookings, and finally taking delivery.

The Indica seen in the video was a petrol car, and it was, in fact, one of the fastest cars available in the market during that time after the Fiat Palio 1.6. He and his family used the car extensively and maintained it well. They used the car until 2013, and during this time, he even installed a free-flow exhaust in it.

In 2013, they decided to upgrade from the Indica to a Volkswagen Vento. They exchanged the hatchback for the sedan. Even after so many years of exchanging it, they couldn’t forget the Indica, and the presenter tried to track the current status of the vehicle. There were times when he thought the car might have been scrapped and might not have survived.

However, to his surprise, the new owner of the Indica was maintaining it pretty well, and the presenter decided to get in touch with the new owner. His intention was to convince the owner to sell the car back.

After trying for months, he managed to get the number of the new owner from the Parivahan app. He finally called the new owner, narrated the whole story, and explained the importance of this particular car to his family. The new owner agreed to sell the car back, and the presenter bought it.

After buying the Indica back, the presenter decided to do mechanical and cosmetic upgrades to keep the car alive. The car looks well-maintained, and the exterior and interior look exactly the same as when it was new.
