Maruti Suzuki has been selling the Jimny in the international markets for a long time now. Due to its overall design language, the SUV looks like a smaller version of the Mercedes Benz G Wagon. There have been multiple examples internationally of a Jimny being converted to a G-Wagen with a body kit. Today, we will cover one such modification which is done in India and showcased in a YouTube video uploaded by The Car Show.

The video starts with some cinematic shots of the SUV which highly resembles the original G-Wagen. Let’s start with the changes done to the front fascia of the car. The grille, bumper and the hood has been replaced to look exactly the same as an original G-Wagen. The headlights are changed to aftermarket units with round DRLs, similar to the G Wagon. These parts are the part of the Jimny to G–Wagen conversion kit.

Additionally, the indicators are positioned on the hood which is one of the signature element of the G-Wagen. Roof lights have been installed to add to the functionality and the visual appeal of the car.

The side profile does not come with any changes except the alloy wheels. The design of the 20-inch alloy wheels is similar to the alloys of a G63 AMG, the sportier version of the G-Wagen. Other than this the ORVMs have been replaced which is a part of the kit.

The rear profile is kept nearly stock with the only changes being the aftermarket taillights and a roof mounted spoiler. This Maruti Jimny is finished in dual done with the body color being red and the roof being black.

Now, let’s talk about the changes done to the interior of the car. Not many additions have been done to the cabin of the car. The logo on the steering wheel is replaced with a Mercedes logo.

The theme of the cabin is changed to cream with glossy black elements and a black roof liner. The AC vents are replaced to AMG style AC vents which is a popular modification in the Mahindra Thar. The seat covers follow the same theme with a Brabus logo on the headrests. Additionally, ambient lights are added to multiple places.

The host mentions that this modification is done in Chandigarh but he does not mention the name of the workshop that has done this job. The owner of the car was not available during the shoot so the cost of the modification is unknown.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a five door off road focused vehicle which was launched by the brand to compete with the Mahindra Thar. The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 105 PS of power and 134 Nm of torque. The price of the Jimny starts at Rs. 12.74 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 14.95 lakhs.
