People go talkative and ‘share-ative’ about them. The latest to join this line of ‘talked about CEOs’ is Mercedes India’s MD and CEO Santosh Iyer, for a very interesting reason- stepping away from Kriti Sanon at the new E-Class launch!

Actress Kriti Sanon was present at the launch of the new 2024 E Class LWB. Post the official unveil, the actress came near Mercedes India CEO Santosh Iyer. Iyer made a gentlemanly gesture by slightly moving away from Kriti. This was apparently to make her more comfortable and seems to have worked out well.
However, social media found a troll opportunity in this! Netizens soon had various troll pages pop up memes based on this. One of them (the video might soon be taken down, so watch it before it goes) had the text ‘ CEO ki wife kuch zyada strict ha’ on it- roughly translating to ‘ The CEO’s wife is rather strict’, taking a dig at Santosh’s gesture.
It soon rose to good viewership. You know the meme is going to be a hit when it has Kriti involved! More than Santosh, netizens were curious about the ‘Kriti side’ of things. In the past, we have seen her being trolled by celebs like Kartik Aaryan.
This time, with the Mercedes India CEO involved, the trolls reached the auto enthusiast fraternity as well. While most comments consider the act funny, a few people have recognized Iyer’s genuine gentlemanly behaviour. ‘Wife is not strict ..CEO himself Gentleman’ says one, while another comment reads ‘This is the real man, Jo Dekh b Nahi Raha usko… Pure man’.
What We Think Of This:
Well, we would say it was very gentlemanly for the CEO to do this. He should have done it on purpose so that the Bollywood diva felt comfortable around him and had a cosy, memorable time at the launch event of the bigshot brand that he represents. A celeb can get uncomfortable or borderline uncomfortable on occasions as big as this, and during public appearances.
We have seen many going through such phases during chat shows and press meets. It is the co-host or whoever is with them on the dias, who would possibly be able to make them comfortable, and Santosh Iyer did just that- respecting the woman and giving her the space she deserves.
This act speaks a lot about why he is and deserves to be the CEO of an iconic brand like Mercedes Benz. Mercedes as a brand, has always represented well-behaved, successful and prosperous gentlemen and the top hat has now underlined the same with his approach towards the diva.
Social media isn’t the sanest or most accommodating place to be in, nor is it the most understanding when it comes to gestures and emotions. It would thus be pointless to expect people on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to conceive these the right way, or to expect transparency in the things they speak and do online! Forget being politically correct…
The bottom line is that not everyone would be able to see how much of a gentlemanly gesture it was from Iyer, just like not everyone can afford a Mercedes Benz! (And we don’t intend to equate finances to emotional bandwidths- just talking about numbers here!). Plus, many on the internet can do crazy stuff for a couple of likes, comments and shares. It is better to ignore and move on…
