Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kaellenius believes the electric G-Class could be more capable than the ICE version. This was revealed through an outdoor video featuring the battery-powered SUV, getting us up to speed with the latest developments straight from the chief executive himself.
Kaellenius was joined by Fabian Schossau, chief engineer of electric G-Class, and they talked about what to expect from the electric off-roader. It has been four years since Mercedes-Benz announced that the long-time-running G-Class would adopt an all-electric powertrain, yet we know so little about it.
Right off the bat, the electric G-Wagon retains the recognizable boxy form of the nameplate. According to Kaellenius, this makes the EV “look like a real G.”
