The GLE is looking to put more power behind the pedal by offering an electrified the powertrain throughout the model range, including the new GLE 400 e 4Matic plug-in hybrid, in addition to mild hybrids with a 48-volt system and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which certainly helps.

The new front bumper provides more visual presence, while standard LED High-Performance headlamps complement the distinctive daytime running light design.

New model year generally means more standard goodies and the 2024 version of the AMG GLE 53 is no exception.

So often it’s on the interior where Mercedes shines and this version is no different. Again moving toward a more modern aesthetic, the GLE uses a new steering wheel with sensor surfaces on the horizontal spokes. The interior is also elevated by the chrome finish of the center and side air vents — once only found in the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

The look isn’t the only part of the interior getting a touch up as the new model uses the second generation MBUX infotainment system. Numerous vehicle and comfort functions can be controlled on the infotainment screens in brilliant display views.

Since it is an SUV, making it ready to head off the tarmac is important and the 2024 GLE gets an Off-Road Mode in the MBUX display. It provides special content such as gradient, roll angle, compass and steering angle and “turns it into a visual experience.” In conjunction with the optional Parking Package with 360-degree camera, it also offers the “transparent hood” function.
