Indian roads are developing, but one thing that many people who drive on our roads lack is patience. We have come across several instances where bad driving habits have led to accidents on the road. The sense of driving is lacking in many drivers even today, and there are several examples available online that prove the same. Here we have a video where a careless Tata Nano driver, while overtaking on a curve, loses control and collides with a biker who was in front of him.
The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. The exact location of this accident is not mentioned; however, looking at the surroundings, it appears to be somewhere in South India. The 20-second-long video was recorded on the dashcam of a car that was passing through the same road. The road is not very crowded with vehicles, and it is likely passing through a village. We see a couple of vehicles passing from the opposite direction.
The car soon approaches a small elevation with a curve. The road markings are very clear, with instructions not to overtake. The car driver is behind a motorcycle, and as he approaches the curve, a Tata Nano suddenly appears from the rear. The Nano Twist driver is overtaking the vehicle on the curve, and while trying to do so, he loses control.
The small hatchback moves vigorously left and right, and the driver tries hard to regain control. However, it’s too late. The car even overtakes the bike in front. Soon after overtaking the bike, the Nano crashes into a coconut tree on the roadside. The front end of the car is hit, and upon impact, the rear of the car also lifts into the air. The biker almost avoids crashing into the car, but his luck runs out, and the rear of the car hits the biker who is passing on the right.
All this happens in a matter of seconds. The car recording the video stops and maintains a safe distance. The biker, who falls on the road after being hit by the car, is seen moving away from the road for his own safety. Locals rush towards the car and the bike to help them. A dried coconut palm leaf lying in the middle of the road blocks the way for vehicles coming from the opposite direction. In this case, the Tata Nano driver is at fault. He was impatient and attempted to overtake on a curve. The Tata Nano has a tall-boy design, which means the car tends to lose control very easily. This is exactly what happened here. The careless driver not only crashes his vehicle but also inconveniences other road users and causes damage to other vehicles. The biker, who was following lane discipline, also becomes a victim in this accident. Fortunately, there were not many vehicles, and they escaped with minor injuries.
