Honda Cars India’s entry-level offering, the Amaze sedan, is nearing the end of its life cycle, and the manufacturer hinted about this a few months ago. Now, we have a new set of images that have surfaced online, confirming that Honda is working on the next-generation Amaze sedan to compete with the upcoming Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura sedans in the segment.
The images have been shared by 91 Wheels on their website. In the newly leaked images, we see a heavily camouflaged Honda Amaze sedan being tested on Indian roads. The image shows the rear of the upcoming Amaze sedan. From the images available at the moment, it looks like Honda is planning a major redesign for both the exterior and the interior.
The rear of the sedan looks entirely different from the one currently on sale. The current generation Amaze was launched back in 2018, and since then, Honda has not done anything to keep the model interesting among buyers. It looks like the rear of the sedan has been completely redesigned, and the sedan will also get a new set of tail lamps.
There are no images at the moment that show how the side profile or front of the sedan will look. We expect the side profile to remain the same as the current version, with more character lines to accentuate the exterior look. The alloy wheel design on this sedan will also be different from the existing one.
The front end of the sedan is expected to get an all-new design. Honda might offer a design similar to what is now commonly seen on other Honda sedans sold internationally. On the inside, Honda might redesign the dashboard and go with a theme similar to what we see in the Honda City or Elevate. We expect a larger touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, plush-looking interiors, and even a sunroof. We expect Honda might also offer a 360-degree camera with the new Amaze sedan.
The Amaze sedan falls under the sub-4-meter category for tax benefits. We expect Honda to design the car in such a manner that it offers a very spacious cabin without compromising on comfort and features. Regarding the engine options, Honda has already discontinued the diesel engine with the Amaze. Like all its rivals, Honda now offers only a petrol engine.
It will be powered by the same 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine currently offered in the existing version. This engine comes mated with a manual and a CVT gearbox option.
Honda Amaze needs this update badly, especially at a time when Maruti is all set to launch the next-generation Dzire. Honda is expected to launch the next-generation Amaze sometime later this year or early 2025.
We expect to see more spy pictures of the Honda Amaze in the near future. Honda currently has cars like the Honda City, City Strong Hybrid, and Honda Elevate in the Indian market. With all the changes and upgrades, Honda is expected to price the sedan quite competitively.
