Sadly, Nissan hasn’t shared performance figures, but it will be quicker than the standard Ariya. Whether it’s as rapid as the Model Y Performance and Ioniq 5 N remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely.
Still, the Ariya has loads more to offer than just straight-line speed. Nismo has tuned the electric crossover for improved handling and dynamism, while the accelerator pedal has been tuned for better response. A special Nismo mode improves vehicle responses even further. Optionally, the sporty Ariya can emit a unique sound reminiscent of Formula E racing, in which Nissan is heavily involved.
Aerodynamic performance has also been improved, thanks to the sporty body kit. Speaking of the new look, the Ariya Nismo benefits from a prominent front lip, side skirts, a faux diffuser, and two rear spoilers. The add-ons are finished in a contrasting black and boast subtle red pinstriping. 20-inch wheels wrapped in 255/45 tires are also standard. Nissan says the lightweight aluminum wheels provide superior turn-in ability, increased stability, and better cornering abilities, particularly at high speed.
