Not A Cop: This Drift-Ready Crown Victoria Looks Rowdy!
“Sleeper” is one of those words that gets thrown around in the gearhead world too much. It’s like saying that something is “cool”, even if you’re saying it so that you don’t offend the guy with the trash can of a car who thinks he’s got hot stuff. It’s like saying “I love you” to nearly everyone on Valentine’s day…in the second grade. It’s overrated. Pardon the comparison, but deciding what is and isn’t a sleeper is like figuring out what adult content does and doesn’t work for you: it’s difficult to explain, but you’ll know it when you see it.
This Crown Victoria isn’t a sleeper. There’s just no way. This looks like someone took Grandma’s daily driver straight to a drift shop and after the laughter died down and the lead tech said, “Oh, you’re serious,” they proceeded to throw the whole catalog at the car. From the big bash bar up front that is keeping the intercooler intact to the nearly flawless Sepia Green Metallic paint that is bingo-night ready, everything about this civillian-dressed ex-cruiser rules.
From the listing:
“Well I hate it , but the time has come to let go of one of the top five favorite cars I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. And I know some are gonna say it’s just a Vic , but if you come and look you’d see why. That being said, this is a 2004 Crown Vic with only 74k miles it’s Sepia Green Metallic (beautiful color ). It previously was a FBI car with the SAP package (meaning street appearance package). It’s a well-built 2v 4.6 with a Vortech supercharger and custom fabricated piping, Acufab throttle body with matching mass air, Procharger wastegate (very audible), Stainless Works headers and mandrel exhaust all the way back. Car makes right at 400hp / 408tq. It’s hooked to a well built 4R70W overdrive trans with nice internals, a deep aluminum pan and bolt-together Circle D convertor. Car does have a line-lock if burning tires off is your thing. There is a very long list of parts to be named, but if interested PM me and i can go over them as well. Car is 10/10 clean inside and out.”
Do you know how badly I would love to romp this at Ford Fest? I can even overlook the lack of a third pedal in this car, because imagine raising seven shades of hell in the drift pit and then, after changing tires, enjoying a lovely drive home with the cruise control on!
